Your nails are quietly honest. They tell you when you're a little run down, a little dehydrated, or a little overdue for some tenderness. I'm Angely, and over the years I've learned to read these little signals. Here are the ones I want you to notice too.
1. Peeling or splitting tips
Usually a sign of dryness or too much exposure to water and chemicals. More cuticle oil, hand cream, and gloves for chores will help enormously.
2. Brittle nails that snap easily
Brittleness often points to dehydration or a need for more nourishment. Be gentle with filing and feed your nails with regular moisture.
3. White spots
Most white spots are simply minor trauma — a bump or knock weeks ago. They grow out harmlessly, so there's no need to worry.
4. Vertical ridges
Gentle vertical ridges are usually just a natural part of getting older. A buffing block smooths their appearance beautifully.
5. Hangnails
These little tears at the side of the nail mean the surrounding skin is dry. Never bite or pull them — snip cleanly and moisturize.
6. Dull, lifeless color
Sometimes this just means your nails miss a little air and hydration. A polish break and some oil can bring back their natural glow.
7. Slow growth
Nails grow slower when we're stressed, unwell, or low on key nutrients. Rest, water, and good food all show up at your fingertips eventually.
If something feels off or painful, it's always worth checking in with a professional. And if you simply want a little extra care, that's exactly what we're here for.
