This is a less glamorous topic than nail art, but it's one I care about deeply, because healthy nails start with safety. I'm Angely, and a few simple habits keep nail infections away for good.
Why infections happen
The skin around your nail is a barrier. When that barrier is broken — by aggressive cuticle cutting, hangnails, picking, or trapped moisture — bacteria and fungus can slip in. Most infections are entirely preventable.
Simple ways to protect yourself
- Never cut your cuticles harshly — push them back gently instead.
- Don't pick or bite hangnails; snip them cleanly and moisturize.
- Dry your hands and feet fully — trapped moisture invites fungus.
- Keep your own tools clean, and only visit salons that sterilize properly.
Choose a clean salon
This matters more than people realize. A good salon sterilizes metal tools, uses fresh files, and keeps everything spotless. At Paradisse Studio, hygiene is something we take genuinely seriously — your safety is part of the pampering.
Know the warning signs
See a professional or doctor if you notice redness, swelling, warmth, pus, or pain around a nail, or thickening and discoloration of the nail itself. Caught early, these things are easy to treat.
When in doubt, be gentle
Almost every nail infection traces back to one thing: damaged skin around the nail. Treat that little barrier kindly, keep things clean, and you'll rarely have a problem.
Healthy nails are safe nails — and you deserve both.
